[PT] Entre o gesto manual e a reflexão conceptual, o trabalho de Gabriela Malimbus constrói-se como uma linguagem de matéria, tempo e resistência. Com formação em Sociologia, Comunicação e Escultura, encontrou nas técnicas têxteis – o nó, o tecido, a trança, a costura – um vocabulário capaz de dar forma a questões ligadas ao espaço, à memória, ao corpo e à relação entre estética e significado. No universo do Malimbus Studio, sediado em Barcelona, cada peça nasce do diálogo entre intenção e substância, entre pensamento e gesto repetido. É a partir de materiais naturais e reciclados que a artista desenvolve obras únicas que habitam o espaço como experiências sensoriais e escultóricas, afirmando o fazer manual como prática de atenção, sustentabilidade e resistência ao ritmo acelerado do presente.

[EN] Straddling manual craftsmanship and conceptual reflection, Gabriela Malimbus’s work emerges as a language of material, time and resilience. Trained in Sociology, Communication and Sculpture, she has found in textile techniques – knotting, weaving, braiding and sewing – a vocabulary with the power to give shape to issues linked to space, memory, the body and the relationship between aesthetics and meaning. In the world of Malimbus Studio, based in Barcelona, each piece is the outcome of a dialogue between intention and substance, between thought and repeated gesture. Using natural and recycled materials, the artist creates unique works that inhabit the space as sensory and sculptural experiences, affirming the craft of the handmade as a practice of mindfulness, sustainability and resilience in reaction to the fast pace of modern life.
